The book of Psalms has served as the hymnbook and prayerbook of God’s people from ancient times and on into the present. Known as the Psalter, this collection of Holy Spirit-inspired poetry captures the highs and lows of life. The Psalms are powerful prayers, guiding us into honest communication with God. They validate our doubts, passions, fears, and longings and show us how to draw near to God in our struggles. This Bible study organizes the Psalms thematically, making it easier to grasp their main ideas and apply them to your own conversations with God.

Come see what happens in people's lives when they discover God through the study of His Word, the Bible. This Rochester, MI class meets weekly during the school-year for women and children with nursery through middle school classes in-person at Rochester Christian Church. We also have online classes for women. Each adult class member receives a course-book with a commentary and home study questions unless she prefers that same content online only. Each week you will participate in small group discussions and large group teaching. Core Coffees will provide the opportunity for sharing and relationship building within your Core Group. Our study for 2024-2025 is Revelation, 1 & 2 Timothy & Titus. Course descriptions: Revelation - An exciting study in which Jesus Christ appears in all His glory. He is revealed as the Lamb of God, Bridegroom, King, and Judge. Prophecies are examined against the backdrop of God’s overriding plan for creation since the beginning of time and on through eternity. Class members will be inspired to worship and challenged to live in watchful readiness for the Lord’s return. 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy & Titus: Christian Leadership emphasizes the essentials necessary for a church to be united and grounded in God’s truth. In these three letters to young pastors (1 and 2 Timothy, and Titus), Paul gave instructions for teaching sound doctrine, avoiding false teachers, and fostering an environment of spiritual health. Chronologically, 2 Timothy is the final letter Paul wrote. It offers a poignant picture of his vision, faith, and legacy. Our class meets on Thursdays from 9:30-11:30 and class does not meet when the Rochester Community Schools are off. Regarding Registration Fees and Tax-Deductible Contributions: Since its beginning in 1975, the philosophy of CBS has always been to be an every-person’s Bible study, available to all. Each class member is asked to pay a registration fee to help defray the ministry’s operating costs; however, registration scholarships are available. The registration fee is not tax-deductible. The registration fees provide for less than 20% of the per person costs required to fulfill the mission of CBS, including all US types of classes and our international support of CBSI. CBS is a participation-based ministry. CBS curriculum is available only to participants currently attending a recognized CBS class. It is not offered for purchase or distribution to anyone who is not part of a CBS class. CBS lesson books are copyrighted. Generous, voluntary tax-deductible donations from class participants enable more people to know God through His Word. The 2024-25 CBS annual budget breaks down to $185 per US adult member. But all giving in CBS is voluntary and class members who are unable to contribute should continue to attend without feeling any pressure to give.
